WS1 Solid State Wind Sensor

It is a modbus device, without any moving parts, equipped with a SA.01 wind sensor, which measures the velocity of an air flow. It is based on a principle described in 1914 by the Canadian physicist Louis Vessot King, whereby air flow affects temperature. In the 1950s it began to be used to measure velocity in wind tunnels. The great advantage over mechanical systems is that there is no bearing wear, no variation in the measured values over time. It also has no inertial problems of mechanical equipment being more sensitive and has a capacity to work in dusty environments such as ducts or chimneys.

Description

  • Dimensions: 80x80x50 mm enclosure and 100mm sensor element.
  • Power supply: It works with voltages from 9V to 30V.
  • Protections: Equipped with protections to ensure reliability in industrial environments (IEC 61000-4-2, IEC 61000-4-4-4, IEC 61000-4-5).
  • Communication: Supports Modbus RTU.

Features and Benefits

  • Accurate measurement of air velocity and temperature.
  • System with no moving parts, which minimizes maintenance.
  • Omnidirectional readings for greater installation flexibility.

Applications

  • Performance evaluation of HVAC systems.
  • Flow control in ducts.
  • Control of air extractors.
  • Maintenance and commissioning of facilities.
  • Monitoring in critical environments.
  • Move solar panels to a safe position.
  • Collect awnings.
  • Professional irrigation systems.
  • Greenhouse control.

Technical Specifications

  • Measuring range: 0 to 40 m/s. (At higher speeds it continues to measure but with loss of accuracy).
  • Temperature: Range from -10 °C to +60 °C.
  • Operating Conditions: -25 to 50 °C in non-condensing conditions.

The WS1 Wind Sensor is an effective solution for monitoring wind conditions, ensuring optimal control in various applications.
